Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of THz transceivers and evaluation platforms from concept through volume production. The ideal candidate has experience in high-speed circuit design, signal and power integrity, and RF component and SERDES integration. The candidate must be eligible and available to work on-site in Ottawa, ON.
Key Responsibilities
Develop hardware transceiver modules and evaluation platforms, including PCB design and component selection.
Design high-speed analog, digital and power circuits.
Create detailed design documentation, schematics, and BOMs.
Develop test plans and perform validation in lab environment.
Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, ASIC and system teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Drive design reviews with cross-functional and manufacturing teams.
Support troubleshooting and failure analysis during prototype and production phases.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in hardware design for optical or RF communication systems.
Proficiency in high-speed PCB design tools (Cadence preferred).
Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers).
Experience with SerDes, PAM4, or other high-speed signaling technologies.
Knowledge of thermal management and EMI/EMC compliance.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
